News ArticlePress Release

Augusta, Maine – Maine State Credit Union is excited to announce the return of its annual Shred-It Days, a series of free community events designed to help individuals safely and securely dispose of sensitive documents. A longtime favorite among members and community members alike, the events provide convenient access to professional on-site shredding services at no cost.

In partnership with Records Management Center, these events offer secure, on-site document destruction, giving participants peace of mind that their personal and financial information is properly protected. Community members are encouraged to bring old paperwork, such as bank statements, credit card bills, pay stubs, ATM receipts, and other documents containing signatures, account numbers, or personal identifying information.

The 2026 Shred-It Day schedule includes six events held across Maine State Credit Union’s service areas:

Open to both members and the public, Shred-It Days reflect Maine State Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to community education, fraud prevention, and helping individuals protect their personal information.
