Drive for Good

Your vehicle loan will help support Maine charities that uplift kids, families, animals, and the communities we all call home.

Where Every Vehicle Loan Gives Back

Maine State Credit Union donates $25 to a local charity for every vehicle loan opened. It’s part of our commitment to helping Maine communities thrive–not just through financial services, but through meaningful support where it’s needed most.

Charitable organizations receiving funds serve a range of important causes, including children and families, food insecurity, animal welfare, and the arts and local history. When you finance a vehicle with us, you’re not just getting a great loan—you’re giving back to the place we all call home.

Drive for Good is a way for Maine State CU to help local non-profit organizations. Through this program, each time a member is approved for a direct vehicle loan, $25 will be donated to the designated organization for the quarter and area (see below).

January through March – FOOD INSECURITY

  • Augusta Area: Augusta Food Bank
  • Waterville Area: Waterville Area Soup Kitchen
  • Rockland Area: Caring for Kids
  • Gray Area: Community Food Pantry

April through June – CHILDREN & FAMILIES

  • Augusta Area: Camp to Belong
  • Waterville Area: Maine Children’s Home
  • Rockland Area: Homeworthy
  • Gray Area: Windham Neighbors Helping Neighbors

July through September – HISTORY & THE ARTS

  • Augusta Area: Augusta Symphony Orchestra
  • Waterville Area: Waterville Children’s Discovery Museum
  • Rockland Area: Midcoast Music Academy
  • Gray Area: Gray Area Historical Society

October through December – ANIMAL WELFARE

  • Augusta Area: Kennebec Valley Humane Society
  • Waterville Area: Humane Society of Waterville
  • Rockland Area: Thomaston Dog Park
  • Gray Area: Homeless Animal Rescue Team

We select the organization based on how it aligns with the mission and the values of Maine State Credit Union.

No, this program is only for new direct vehicle loans with Maine State Credit Union.

In 2025, we plan to donate up to a combined total of $20,000 to these organizations ($5000 per quarter).
