We are collecting socks during October to be donated to local and statewide organizations.

At Maine State Credit Union, we’re proud to host Socks for Rémy, a special sock drive in remembrance of Rémy Pettengill, a local high school student who passed unexpectedly in 2023. Rémy was a kindred spirit, always seeking ways to help others and positively impact the world.

As an Eagle Scout, Rémy was recognized for his dedication to volunteerism and community service. One of his wishes was to collect fun, crazy socks for kids, veterans, and those experiencing homelessness.

This October, we invite you to honor Rémy’s memory by donating new socks at any of our branch locations. In partnership with Rémy’s family and the Augusta Capital Area Technical Center’s JMG program, we aim to collect as many socks as possible to help those in need.

Stop by any of our branches and drop your sock donations in the Rémy Sock Boxes. Together, we can continue Rémy’s mission of spreading kindness and care to our community.
