We want to assure you that we take the health and well-being of our employees, members, and the community very seriously. Like you, we're closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. I wanted to take the time to update you on what measure we are taking to protect our employees while still providing you the highest level of service that we can.
We're Here for You
Fortunately, Governor Mills has recognized credit unions an essential business, and we can continue to operate as long as we follow the social distancing guidelines. We have put the following steps in place:
- Temporarily closed our lobbies - As you may be aware, we have temporarily closed our branch lobbies. This allows us to spread our staff out while still providing you with the banking services you need.
- Expanded our drive-thru hours - We have expanded our drive-thru hours at our 200 Capitol Street location as well as at 81 Grove Street in Waterville. The hours at our Hospital Street location in Augusta remain the same. Our drive-thrus allow you to have a conversation with a branch teller from the comfort of your car. You do not need a special PIN or password. The new hours are 7 am- 6 pm Monday- Friday.
- Expanded our eBranch call center hours - Our eBranch is a full-service call center made up of staff, who over the phone, can help you with the majority of your banking transactions such as transfers, opening accounts, and loans. The hours for the eBranch are 7 am - 7 pm and can be reached by calling 623-1851, option 2.
- Have staff working from home- We have also started to transition employees out of the office and give them the tools that they need to perform their jobs remotely.
We will miss seeing you in the branch and know that we are still here to help you. We offer a variety of self-service tools that allow you to bank when and where it is convenient for you. These include:
- Online Banking - Using your desktop, mobile phone, or tablet, you can view your balances, make transfers, pay bills, and open new checking and saving accounts as well as apply for a loan. To register click here. To view how to register click here.
- Mobile Banking - Our mobile banking app gives you the freedom to bank from your home. You can check balances, deposit checks, make transfers, pay bills, and even send money to a friend.
- ATMs - Our ATMs are available 24/7 for cash withdrawals, deposits, and transfers. Maine State Credit Union is also part of the SURF networks, which allows you to make the same transactions fee-free at ATMs of other credit unions across the state.
We know this is a time of hardship for some as non-essential services closed down. We currently have three programs in place to help provide some financial relief:
- Community Cares Loan - This is a low-rate payment deferment loan, designed for members facing a loss of pay as a result of COVID -19. Click here to learn more.
- Loan Deferment Program - For members who are in good standing will be able to defer certain loan payments for up to 90 days. Click here to learn more.
- Skip-A-Pay - We have waived the fee on our skip-a-pay program. Click here to learn more.
We are all in this together. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can continue to support our members and communities as needed.
