Maine State Credit Union is seeking a Financial Services Representative (FSR). This is an exceptional opportunity for someone to join a financially strong, growth oriented, and community based financial institution with over $500 million in assets. We currently serve over 30,000 members with three branch locations in Kennebec County, and we are expanding into Cumberland County.

 

The FSR is responsible for receiving and assisting members by online technology and telephone, establishing new relationships, and enhancing member needs by optimizing usage of Credit Union services, as well as proactively exploring current and future needs of members.  This individual will be proficient in managing complex accounts and providing support to other team members seeking guidance or assistance. This may include:

  • Providing complete information on features and benefits of all Credit Union products, services, and financial education tools and processing member financial transactions;

 

  • Building relationships with members by exploring needs through active listening and open-ended questions;

 

  • Opening new accounts and originating loan application requests, such as VISA lines of credit, within established guidelines and lending authority;

 

  • Primary liaison for technical support with regard to the various electronic products and services;

 

  • Following-up on inquiries and resolving problems with the intention of exceeding member expectations; and

 

  • Developing knowledge of all accounting policies and procedures relating to our member deposit services, data processing system, and member statements to enable independent judgment to resolve issues and carry out the appropriate action.

 

Experience and Qualifications of Our Ideal Candidate:

  • A minimum of six months of similar or related experience required -- one or more years preferred;
  • High school education or GED;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and members;
  • Ability to work with computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers and other pertinent equipment and programs.
