Becoming a member of Maine State Credit Union is easy. If you meet any of the criteria below, or are an immediate family member1 of an existing Maine State Credit Union member, you are eligible for Membership.Membership Eligibility
The following people are eligible to join Maine State CU:- Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Kennebec County or Somerset County
- Maine State Employees
- Employees of the Maine State Employees' Association
- Cumberland County Employees
- Maine Housing Authority Employees
- Members of the Maine Association of Retirees
- Employees of the Maine Technical College System
- Maine State Retirement System Employees
- Retirees of groups listed above, any individual who is receiving a Maine State retirement pension, and their immediate family* or household members2.

1 Immediate Family Member - Spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild. This includes stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings and adoptive relationships.
2Household Member - Persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit.
* Annual Percentage Yield. The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) assumes interest will remain on deposit until maturity. An early withdrawal will reduce earnings. A penalty may be imposed for an early withdrawal. Rates are subject to change without notice. Certificate rates quoted are fixed for the term of the account. Certificates renew at the end of the quoted term with no grace period.
