Announcing the 2009 Scholarship Winners!
Maine State Credit Union is proud to announce that it has awarded $1,000 scholarships to 20 Maine high school students who will be attending a post-secondary educational institution next year.In April, applicants submitted scholarship applications, including an essay outlining what education means to their financial future and a letter of recommendation. Applications were carefully reviewed by the Maine State Credit Union Scholarship Committee and the 20 winners were selected. Scholarship recipients include:

Donald Cray of Gardiner will attend St. Joseph's College of Maine

Isac Cone of Gardiner will attend Kennebec Valley Community College to study electrical line work technology

Katelyn Dutton of Chelsea will attend University of Maine Orono to study music education and English literature

Travis Elliot of Mount Vernon will attend University of Maine, Orono to study mechanical engineering

Patrick Griffin of Albion will attend Northern Maine Community College to study plumbing/heating
William Jones of Chelsea will attend University of Maine, Orono to pursue an engineering degree
Natalie Kirkham of Augusta will attend Simmons College to study nursing

Nevin Lessard of Belgrade will attend the University of New England to study dental medicine
Brittany Locke of Waterville will attend St. Joseph's College of Maine to pursue a nursing degree

Marc McDonald of Augusta will attendWest Virginia University to study biochemistry as part of the pre-dental program

Stephanie McLellan of South China will attend University of Maine, Farmington to major in Elementary Education

Gregory O'Neill of Augusta will attend Providence College to pursue a degree in Business

Justin Philbrick-Michaud of Sidney will attend Kennebec Valley Community College to study Precision Machining

Aleena Plummer of Augusta will attend Gordon College to study English/Creative Writing

Nicole Quintal of Augusta will attend Husson Universityto pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy.

Ryan Rancourt of Winslow will attend University of Maine, Orono to study Civil Engineering

Evelyn Schultz of Waterville will attend Smith College to pursue a double major in Dance and Art History
Taylor Schwartz of Manchester will attend Tufts University to pursue a medical degree

Renee Symonds of Belgrade will attend Bowdoin College to study Neuroscience and French

Mary Trahan of Gardiner will attend Saint Anselm College to study nursing to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner.
