Deposit Accounts

Share (Savings) Accounts

Maine State CU membership is ownership.  Your first step to credit union ownership is opening a share (savings) account.  A $25.00 deposit is required to open a savings account.  If you are not currently a member, please download and complete the Membership Application.

If you are already a member and wish to open an additional Savings Account, you can download and complete the Share Account Application.  Please read the Membership Agreement and Disclosure prior to completing this application.

Share Draft (Checking) Accounts

With Maine State CU share draft (checking) accounts there are no restrictions on the number of checks you can write per statement cycle, no minimum balance fees, and no monthly service charges. Our checking accounts provide you with a duplicate of each check so you always have a copy of the transaction to assist you with your record keeping.

Our checking accounts also offer you several "safety net" options. Each checking account is automatically linked to your share (savings) account. This means that in the event of an overdraft, the money will automatically transfer from your savings account to your checking account. This service is provided up to six times per month at no charge. We also offer Overdraft Protection Loans. This feature is a line of credit on your checking account. The line of credit is automatically accessed in the case of an overdraft, if your share account does not contain sufficient funds.

To open a Checking Account, download and complete the Checking Account Application. Please read the Membership Agreement and Disclosure prior to completing this application.
